Lisa Milroy is recognised for her paintings of a series of small objects such as shoes. I think her style is delicate but she then uses sharp strokes to create the highlights within her work. The series of them are in a military sequence all lined up, when viewed from afar the series of black shoes start to appear to look like a clump of mussels.
Lisa Milroy is a Canadian painter who lives and works in the UK. She studied at the Université de Paris-Sorbonne from (1977–1978). Before she stayed at London St Martin’s School of Art in (1978–1979). In 1979 she then studied at University of London (1979–1982). She is currently Head of Graduate Painting at the Slade School of Fine Art, London
