Lisa Milroy is recognised for her paintings of a series of small objects such as shoes. I think her style is delicate but she then uses sharp strokes to create the highlights within her work. The series of them are in a military sequence all lined up, when viewed from afar the series of black shoes start to appear to look like a clump of mussels.
Lisa Milroy is a Canadian painter who lives and works in the UK. She studied at the Université de Paris-Sorbonne from (1977–1978). Before she stayed at London St Martin’s School of Art in (1978–1979). In 1979 she then studied at University of London (1979–1982).
